These terms govern your use of the Pexper application and website (pexper.com). By downloading or using Pexper, you agree to these terms.

1. The product

Pexper is a desktop application for building AI workflows using a visual, node-based canvas. It connects to third-party AI providers (via your own API keys, subscriptions, or local models) and does not host or provide AI models itself.

2. Alpha and pricing

Pexper is currently available as a free alpha release. During the alpha period:

  • All features are available at no cost
  • No account or payment is required
  • The product may contain bugs, incomplete features, or breaking changes
  • We may introduce a paid version in the future (expected: one-time purchase)

We will provide at least 30 days notice before transitioning from free alpha to any paid model.

3. License

During the alpha period, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Pexper on your personal devices for any lawful purpose.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the application
  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices

4. Your content and data

You own everything you create with Pexper.

  • All workflows you build are yours
  • All content generated through Pexper is yours
  • All data processed through Pexper remains yours

Pexper claims no rights to your workflows, prompts, outputs, or any other content you create or process using the application.

5. AI providers

Pexper connects to third-party AI providers using your own credentials. You are responsible for:

  • Complying with each provider's terms of service
  • Managing your own API keys and access credentials
  • Any costs incurred through your use of third-party providers
  • Understanding each provider's policies regarding generated content ownership

6. Local models

When using local models (Ollama, LM Studio, Apple MLX, etc.), all processing occurs on your device. Pexper does not transmit any data to external servers during local model use.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Pexper to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Generate content that exploits or harms minors
  • Build workflows designed to harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the application's licensing terms
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Pexper website or services

8. Updates and support

During the alpha period:

  • Updates are provided as they become available, at our discretion
  • Support is offered on a best-effort basis through email and community channels
  • We do not guarantee uptime, response times, or specific feature timelines
  • Breaking changes may occur between versions

9. Limitation of liability

Pexper is provided "as is" during the alpha period. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We are not liable for loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of Pexper
  • We are not liable for the actions, availability, or outputs of third-party AI providers
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Pexper (during the free alpha: $0)

10. Termination

  • You may stop using Pexper at any time by uninstalling the application
  • We may revoke your license if you violate these terms
  • Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and post a notice on pexper.com at least 30 days before changes take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of [JURISDICTION].
