Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 20, 2026
Last updated: April 20, 2026
This policy covers how Pexper ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our products and website (pexper.com). It applies to:
- Pexper — a desktop AI workflow builder
- Oxel — a free desktop image processing application
Both are local-first desktop applications. Where data handling differs between the two, it is noted below.
The short version
Your files, API keys, workflows, and processed images stay on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your content. We collect only what is needed to process purchases and improve our products. We do not sell your data. We do not track you across apps or websites.
1. What we collect
Information you provide directly
- Email address — when you join the waitlist, subscribe to updates, or create an account on pexper.com.
- Payment information — when you purchase Pexper. Processed entirely by our payment processor. We never see or store card details. Oxel is free and does not require payment.
- Support requests — when you contact us for help.
Information we never collect
- Your files and images — files you process in Pexper or Oxel are never uploaded to our servers.
- API keys — stored locally on your device only. Never transmitted to us.
- Workflow data — your workflows, prompts, and node configurations remain on your device.
- Generated and processed content — text, images, audio, video, and any other output created or processed through our products stays local.
- AI provider traffic — we do not intercept, log, or route communication between your device and third-party AI providers.
Diagnostics (optional — can be disabled)
- Anonymous usage analytics — feature usage, session duration, crash-free rate. No personal identifiers. No content data. Not linked to your identity.
- Crash reports — anonymized stack traces and device information to help us fix bugs. Not linked to your identity.
You can disable both in each application's settings at any time. When disabled, no diagnostic data is collected or transmitted.
2. How we use your information
| Data | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Product updates, support responses, purchase confirmations. Unsubscribe anytime. | Until you unsubscribe or request deletion. |
| Payment information | Process one-time purchases (Pexper only). Handled by our payment processor. | Retained by payment processor per their policy. We store only transaction records as required by law. |
| Diagnostics | Prioritize development, identify and fix bugs. | Aggregated data retained up to 12 months. Individual crash reports deleted after 90 days. |
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Tracking
We do not track you. Specifically:
- We do not track users across third-party apps or websites.
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- We do not participate in ad networks or data brokers.
- We do not build user profiles for targeted advertising.
4. On-device AI processing
Both Pexper and Oxel use AI models that run locally on your device. This section explains how each product handles AI processing.
Pexper
Pexper connects to third-party AI providers using your own credentials. When you use cloud providers (Anthropic, Google Gemini):
- Your prompts and data go directly from your device to the provider. Pexper does not route, intercept, store, or log this traffic.
- Each provider has their own data handling policies. We recommend reviewing them.
When you use on-device models (Apple Foundation, MLX, Gemma), all processing occurs on your device. No data is transmitted externally.
Oxel
Oxel processes images entirely on your device using two local AI models:
- Apple Vision framework — used for image analysis and subject detection. This is a system-level framework provided by Apple that runs on-device using the Neural Engine. All Vision framework processing occurs locally. No image data is sent to Apple or any external server.
- RMBG 1.4 (by BRIA AI) — used for background removal. This model is bundled with Oxel as a Core ML model and runs entirely on-device. No image data is sent to BRIA AI or any external server. The model was trained by BRIA on fully licensed, anonymized image data. RMBG 1.4 is used under BRIA's model license agreement.
Oxel does not connect to the internet for image processing. Your images are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared. All input and output files remain in directories you control.
5. Third-party services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate our website and process transactions:
| Service | Purpose | Data received |
|---|---|---|
| Payment processor | Process purchases (Pexper only) | Payment details (we never see or store these) |
| Email service | Send product updates | Email address |
| Analytics provider (if enabled) | Anonymous diagnostics | Feature events, crash reports — no personal data, not linked to identity |
Our desktop applications do not send your content — files, images, workflows, or AI outputs — to any service operated by us or on our behalf.
We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs or tracking SDKs in our applications.
6. Data storage and security
- Pexper and Oxel are desktop applications. Your workflows, settings, API keys, images, and processed files are stored locally on your device.
- We do not operate servers that store user content.
- Website data (email addresses, transaction records) is stored with industry-standard encryption.
- All web communications use HTTPS.
- Uninstalling Pexper or Oxel removes the application. Locally stored data (workflows, settings, processed files) remains in your file system under your control.
7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as to object to processing.
